Playground at Mathers Place Reserve

Mathers Place Reserve has a children's playground with a climbing unit, a spider net, a rock climbing wall, imagination play panels, pommel walkers and a cargo net. The playground also has swings, a small slide, a larger slide, spinning equipment, a mini rock-climbing wall, climbing nets, balance poles and jumping stumps. A steering wheel, a telescope and a pretend shopfront support imaginative play. Sutherland Shire Council and waste operator SUEZ jointly funded the playground under an agreement tied to extended operations at the Lucas Heights site.

Outdoor Gym at Mathers Place Reserve

Mathers Place Reserve has outdoor fitness equipment for adults and adolescents, including balance equipment, a chin-up bar and a sit-up bench. The outdoor gym is free to use, giving people in Menai and the wider Sutherland Shire an alternative to a gym membership. The equipment sits within the reserve alongside the children's playground, so adults can exercise while their children play.
