About Maria Reserve
Bushland and Wildlife at Maria Reserve
Maria Reserve was established as a bushland reserve in 1995. Native plantings now revegetate the land alongside the remnant trees, and bush regeneration work takes place regularly to maintain them. Maria Reserve provides habitat for birds, possums and fish along the upper Cooks River. Walkways run through the bushland and connect the open grassed areas, where seating gives walkers a place to rest during a relaxed, unhurried stroll beside the river.
