About Jones Street Pocket Park

Native Planting and Birdlife at Jones Street Pocket Park

Jones Street Pocket Park has native plants that were planted by Pyrmont Ultimo Landcare, inspired by Trina Hodgson. The planting was designed to attract local birds and wildlife, and Rainbow Lorikeets feed among it. Native birds use the strip while commuting between other patches of native vegetation on and beyond the peninsula, so Jones Street Pocket Park works as a green corridor for native fauna in Pyrmont.

Walking Route and Quarry Wall at Jones Street Pocket Park

Jones Street Pocket Park has a path running along its length, and city workers and shoppers use it as a pedestrian shortcut between Miller Street and Saunders Street. The strip was created by quarrying, and the old Paradise quarry's cliff wall rises on one side of the path. The cliff wall has been fenced off since 2019. Landcarers who look after the planting know the path as "Trina's Path", and the park is a short, narrow walk rather than a large open space.
