History and Setting of Bradbury Park
Bradbury Park was known as the Fishers Ghost Creek Reserve until 1965, and Fishers Ghost Creek runs alongside The Parkway beside the park. In 1965, Alderman Arch Walker proposed renaming the reserve Bradbury Park in honour of an early landholder. Campbelltown Swimming Centre opened in the park in March 1967, after wet weather caused months of construction delays. Today the park sits next to the Sherwood Hills estate, whose major arterial road is The Parkway.
