The 9.3km return trail at Wianamatta Regional Park runs through the Eastern Visitor Precinct and passes through a section zoned for conservation. The Great West Walk also passes through the precinct, crossing Ropes Creek and South Creek on new footbridges. The Wianamatta Way route links the park to Ropes Crossing Station Reserve, Melaleuca Park and Jordan Springs Lake Park. The paths are reasonably flat, and a walk moves from bushland to overgrown old roads to abandoned factory buildings, past many large mounds that remain from the site's history.
Wildlife and Woodland at Wianamatta Regional Park
Wianamatta Regional Park protects one of the last remaining stands of Cumberland Woodland in the region. Kangaroos and emus are regularly seen along the tracks, and the park also supports birds and frogs for birdwatching.
