About Sir Henry Parkes Park

Pine Grove Heritage at Sir Henry Parkes Park

Sir Henry Parkes Park is a pine grove donated by Mr Swain, a Forestry Commissioner in NSW, South Australia and Queensland. The reserve is the only tangible remainder of Sir Henry Parkes's time in the area, which was known as Coleridge before it became Bullaburra. Tall pine trees fill the grounds, with agapanthus growing among them. For anyone interested in Blue Mountains heritage, the grove gives a direct link to the history of the district.

Water Stop and Picnic Space at Sir Henry Parkes Park

Sir Henry Parkes Park has a drinking bubbler and a water tap, and cyclists riding up towards Katoomba stop here on their rides to refill. A cleared area within the park suits a picnic blanket, and one bench offers a place to rest. The park also offers green space and bush walking opportunities. Fences are largely missing between the park and its next-door properties, so keep children and dogs close.
