Concrete paths link the dog area with every other part of the park, including the playground, skate park, picnic areas and sports field. Five Dock Park is relatively flat with no steep slopes and has an easy terrain rating, so the walk in with a dog is simple.

Five Dock Park has a children's playground with concrete paths running through it and a soft, cushioned surface in parts, and the playground sits beside the picnic areas. Skate Park and Sports at Five Dock Park
Five Dock Park has a skate park, designed by Mick Mulhall and opened in 2007 next to the old bowl. The park's first skate area dates from 1979, was very popular in the 1980s and later fell into disrepair. Five Dock Park also has a lit sports field for winter and summer sports, an oval used for junior rugby league and cricket, tennis courts, a bowling club and a half-sized basketball court.
