About Dunningham Park

Bali Bombing Memorial at Dunningham Park

Dunningham Park has a monument to the victims of the Bali bombing at the top of its hill, and a gate-like structure inscribed 'BATH' also commemorates them. The memorial feature, Dolphins Point, is named for six Coogee Dolphins A Grade Amateur Rugby League players killed in Kuta, Bali, on 12 October 2002. An unofficial shrine with flowers sits within the park, and the memorial area is its best-known landmark.

Coastal Views and Picnic Lawns at Dunningham Park

Dunningham Park sits on a low, wooded hill with views over the sea and sandstone rock formations, and the hilltop lookout is the main spot for watching the coast. Shaded benches sit under trees on the slopes, while sunny grassy areas suit sunbathing and picnics. Parrots and other birds visit the park, making it a spot for birdwatching. Visitors can lie on the grass and take in the coastal outlook.

Coogee to Bondi Walk at Dunningham Park

The Coogee to Bondi walk passes straight through Dunningham Park, and the route also begins or ends at the reserve. Dunningham Park has restrooms, shelters and showers for walkers and runners, who can rest in the shelters before continuing along the coastline. From the BATH area, a staircase leads down to Giles Baths, and Gordon's Bay and Clovelly Beach lie along the same coastline.
