Forby Sutherland Memorial Garden was established in 1970 and dedicated on Sunday 29th August, 1971. The garden commemorates the men of the Endeavour who entered Botany Bay in 1770, and a bronze plaque at the Eton Street entrance carries a dedication to the crew. In 1972, the Sutherland Shire Historical Society donated marker 17, a historic milestone from the original 1890s to 1909 mail coach run.
