About Max Baker Reserve
Playspace at Max Baker Reserve
Max Baker Reserve has a 25-metre flying fox, a large multi-play unit, a swing set and a nest swing. A balance trail runs through the playspace for children who like to move and climb. Small children have their own interactive equipment, including a musical play panel, a speedboat, a flower talk tube and a play café shop front. Shade sails cover the playspace, so children can play out of the sun.
History of Max Baker Reserve
Max Baker Reserve is named after the late Max Baker, who was born in 1930 and lived his whole life in Penrith. The reserve was renamed in his honour when the playspace opened in April 2024. Penrith City Council funded the upgrade through its Parks Asset Renewal Program, part of a commitment to upgrade 40 playspaces over 2019-2024. The upgrade added new equipment, landscaping and pathways.
