About South Lawson Park
Waterfall Walking Loop at South Lawson Park
South Lawson Park has a walking circuit that links five waterfalls: Adelina Falls, Cataract Falls, Federal Falls, Junction Falls and Leslie Falls. A paved track starts near Lawson Oval and traverses the South Lawson Parklands. Stone steps cover the higher ground of the circuit, so walkers should expect some climbing. The loop suits family walks, and dogs are allowed because the reserve is council land rather than a national park.
History and Upgrade of South Lawson Park
South Lawson Park was first gazetted as Reserve No. 35 on 22 August 1876. Blue Mountains City Council is now turning the old golf course into a new park for the district. The planned toilet block has one left-hand wheelchair accessible toilet, one right-hand accessible toilet, two ambulant accessible toilets and a baby change facility, with rainwater harvesting. The upgrade also adds accessible connecting pathways through the park.
