About Cohen Park

Sports Grounds at Cohen Park

Cohen Park has two junior soccer grounds and one junior cricket ground. Football and soccer are the winter sport, while cricket is played in summer on an artificial wicket, with a cricket net for practice. Floodlighting lets games and training run into the evening. Cohen Park also has two multi-purpose courts for tennis, netball and futsal. Leichhardt Tennis Academy books Court 1 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during NSW Public School Terms, and at other times Court 1 is open for casual ball games and tennis. Commercial fitness training is permitted in the park.

Off-Leash Dog Area at Cohen Park

Cohen Park has an off-leash dog area that applies whenever no organised sporting games, training or events are being held. While games, training and events are on, dogs must stay on a leash at all times. Dogs are not permitted in the fenced tennis court areas. A single map shows the off-leash areas of both Cohen Park and Whites Creek Valley Park. Owners should check the timing of games and events before letting dogs off the lead.

Walking Paths and Natural Area at Cohen Park

Cohen Park has walking trails and designated running paths that are maintained for regular use. The Whites Creek Walk bike path passes through the park, so a walk or run can be combined with a ride. Cohen Park also has a natural area of estuarine swamp oak forest and coastal sandstone foreshores forest, where parrots, cockatoos, kookaburras and possums can be seen along its edges.
